Macie Hobbs, LSW
My philosophy for therapy is “you only get out of it what you put into it” so if you are open to talking through life stressors while utilizing helpful skills and tools, I am the therapist for you!
As a therapist, I want to empower my clients to be the best version of themselves, while also showing love and compassion for their flaws, because hey, we’re all human! I enjoy being a therapist because life is a rollercoaster and we have to learn to ride the ups and downs of life it is okay to have someone there to help us along the ride.
I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) through the State of Ohio. I graduated from Wright State University with my Bachelor’s in Social Work in 2018 and my Master’s in Social Work in 2020. I have been working as an individual counseling therapist, whether it be in internships or past jobs, since 2019. I have worked with a wide range of adults ages, starting at 18 to 75. I have worked with an array of life challenges such as life transitions and changes (starting/ending college, gender-affirming changes, career moves, grief, new relationships, etc.), as well as positively managing mental health struggles.
My treatment approach utilizes Person-centered, Solution-Focused, Mindfulness, and Strength Based modalities. I enjoy working with young adults (or older) dealing with life challenges including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, LGBTQIA+ and gender issues, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, current or past trauma, grief, self-compassion, and being an overall great advocate for yourself whether that be in your work, home, or in relationships. I like to use creative tools to help aid the treatment process, such as art, music, and writing.
I’m accepting new clients at two locations: Dayton – CCBT (ccbtcolumbus.com) and Mason – CCPC (www.ccpc-ohio.com), so if you are interested in starting this journey together, give us a call!
Corrine White, LMFT
Corrine White is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT). She received a Bachelor of Science in Music from Eastern Michigan University, and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Fox University in Portland, OR. Corrine has been in the mental health field for over 12 years, directly providing mental health treatment for 8 years. She has worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in a variety of settings.
As a psychotherapist, Corrine believes the healthy integration of neurological, biological, and psychological parts of the brain is important in developing a harmonious and homeostatic balance within one’s self, in relationship to others, and/or in relationship with a Transcendent Other (i.e. God). She uses a systemic lens to address child or adult trauma, difficult life changes, and relational conflict. At times, the way one acts reacts, and experiences emotions within relationships become challenging. Corrine also believes that challenging and difficult experiences from one’s past impact the attachments one constructs in the present and future. One’s ability to process and perceive information gets stuck and one develops negative patterns of interacting and thinking. These patterns make it difficult to maintain a healthy and adaptive relationship with oneself and with others.
Corrine’s approach draws upon a science-based biopsychosocial perspective and may combine ideas from Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Psychodynamic Theory, Attachment Theory, and concepts from Interpersonal Neurobiology. Corrine works collaboratively and systemically with clients in a holistic approach to explore how past relationships and life experiences influence current emotional and behavioral patterns which cause conflict and disconnection and develop emotionally fulfilling attachments which are significant to an individual’s mental, physical, biological, communal, and spiritual growth. Together, Corrine and the client work to identify and alter the emotional and behavioral patterns that are no longer working, and transform these into positive relational patterns and ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving.
Corrine’s personal hobbies include spending time with family and friends, playing with her two German Shepherds, singing, watching basketball (Go Warriors!), playing volleyball, and listening to music.
